Inspiring by Provence: Les Bassacs

Some places don't advertise themselves. Les Bassacs is one of them — a small hamlet tucked into the commune of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, in the Vaucluse, on the northern flank of the Luberon. It won't show up in a guidebook chapter of its own. There's no château, no medieval gate, no market square to anchor a visit. What it has instead is light, stone, and the kind of quiet that has, for decades, made it a working subject for painters rather than a stop for tourists.
